Group Enrollment Process

It’s normal to feel a little uncertain about starting something new. Here’s a clear look at what to expect so you can feel comfortable and confident about the process of joining a therapy group.

  • 1. Reach Out

Fill out the contact form to let me know you’re interested in group therapy. Whether you’re navigating burnout, anxiety, a life transition like divorce, or want a supportive LGBTQ+ affirming space, this step gets the process started.

  • 2. Connection + Fit Call

We’ll set up a short 20-minute video call where I’ll learn more about what you’re looking for, answer your questions, and make sure the group feels like the right fit. Think of it as a chance for us to get to know each other’s vibes before you commit.

  • 3. Get Set Up

You’ll receive access to the secure client portal where you can complete intake forms, review payment details, and schedule your intake appointment. This 60-minute intake session is designed to help you feel fully prepared and supported before your first group.

  • 4. Begin Your Group Journey

Join your first group session and experience the healing power of being in community. Groups are a space to share honestly, feel less alone, and practice new ways of caring for yourself alongside others who truly get it.

Spots are limited so each group stays small and supportive. Reach out today to save your seat in the next round of group therapy in Richmond, VA (or virtually in Virginia & Florida).

Group Therapy FAQ’s

  • Groups are limited to eight members to create a supportive environment where everyone has space to share, connect, and feel seen by each other and their group leader.

  • To help everyone feel safe, each member signs a Group Agreement before starting. It includes things like keeping what’s shared (and who’s in the group) private, and joining sessions from a quiet, private space.

  • Some people find it helpful to do both individual and group therapy at the same time, while others choose just one based on what they need right now. If you already have a therapist, you can ask them for their perspective on what might be most supportive for you. If you’re not currently seeing a therapist and want help figuring it out, reach out and I would be happy to talk it through with you.

  • I do not accept insurance, but you may be able to use out-of-network benefits depending on your plan. I recommend contacting your insurance provider to ask if you have out-of-network coverage and what services it applies to. Many plans will reimburse a portion of the session cost (often 60–80%) after you’ve met your deductible. (More info on this on the Fees & Payment page.)

  • The cost of group therapy sessions vary, and I never want finances to be the reason you can’t get support. A limited number of sliding scale or low-fee spots may be available, and we can discuss any current openings during your inquiry call.
